Trainee Buyer/Sales Advisor - Enniskillen

 The Role: 

The role of the Trainee Buyer is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop within the Company and become a valued member of the procurement team. Reporting to the Retail Operations Director, you will be responsible for the procurement of products and providing admin purchasing support to the Retail Operations Director.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • analyse consumer buying patterns and predict future trends
  • regularly review performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels
  • manage plans for stock levels
  • Keep up to date with market trends and react to changes in demand and logistics
  • meet suppliers and negotiate terms of contract
  • maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products
  • understand the basic rules of vendor management, allocation and price negotiation
  • liaise with other departments within the organisation to ensure projects are completed
  • attend trade fairs, in the UK and overseas, to select and assemble a new collection of products
  • participate in promotional activities
  • write reports and forecast sales levels
  • present new ranges to Directors
  • liaise with shop personnel to ensure supply meets demand
  • obtain feedback from customers

Administrative responsibilities: 

  • Deal with any purchase order/invoice issues, following them through to resolution
  • Support the Retail Operations Director to administer material order documentation
  • Support the Retail Operations Director to carry out general administrative responsibilities within the department
  • Implement, monitor and update procurement programme/schedule

 General duties: 

  • Report and co-ordinate deliveries to stores
  • Issue, record and manage stock counts from stores
  • Provide support as necessary to the buyers where fluctuations in workload demand

 Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Essential IT literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Experience of organising, planning and allocating work tasks
  • General education to GCSE, Essential Maths grade A-C or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate with all levels of seniority particularly in negotiating
  • Highly motivated and willing to progress career within the procurement discipline
